This is a high resolution lithophane of the female version of Commander Shepard, from the “Mass Effect” series.
It’s much higher resolution and quality than you might see elsewhere as I use my own techniques to get the most detail out of each lithophane.

What’s the difference between a high resolution lithophane and others I see on the internet? Check out the zoomed and cropped sample previews below to see(click them to enlarge).
Whats a lithophane anyway?
A lithophane is a three-dimensional image that changes according to the intensity and quality of the light striking it. The light areas are very thin, allowing more light to pass through, while the thicker areas appear darker.
Lithophanes date back to the 1800s, when they were traditionally carved from bees wax, molded in plaster and then cast and fired in porcelain. Around the same time period photography was invented as a simpler way to capture an image, but now 3D printing enables you to experience the best of both worlds.
Note 1:Â All lithophanes are created using high quality co-polyesters suitable for each image type on high end machines(Raise3D Pro 2 Plus, Ultimaker 2+ Extended, 3+ and Ultimaker S5 printers).
Note 2:Â This is a 3D printed and hand finished item, and as such there may be tiny imperfections and visible layer lines. This is just the nature of a 3D printed object and we only print in high resolution on high end equipment to get the most detail(see list of machines in note 1 above). |
